As Catholics, we could not follow Paul's "be ye separate" the way idiots interpret it and still follow Christ's instruction to evangelize. Such a minsinterpretation is also contradicted by His many parables involving Samaritans which were, to a Jewish audiences, manifest unbelievers.

Likewise, we could not follow Paul's other instructions. Read Paul further and the political interpretation of "Be Ye Separate", gets contradicted over and over again .

"To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God, but also in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as is in you, have peace with all men." -Romans 12: 17

"Bless them that persecute you: bless, and curse not." -Romans 12: 14

"But if thy enemy be hungry, give him to eat; if he thirst, give him to drink." -Romans 12: 20

Paul's words concerning charity directly echo Christ's in defining our earthly "bretheren". Christ described our "bretheren" as the poor and the needy and the law-breaker. Notably in His parable of the Sheep and the Goats. Paul shows this applies even to our enemies, and by extension, those of the Church.

The Samaritan woman Jesus met by the well was, in fact, astounded Jesus would even ask her for a drink. Jesus didn't turn His face from her, say "Be Ye Separate" and walk off. Paul isn't contradicting Christ, either. Be Ye Stupid is contradicting both by perverting Scripture to support an entirely un-Christian political agenda.

Let's not forget America is a predominantly Protestant country. Catholics are a minority religion. The only way Catholics can "be ye separate" the way Be Ye Stupid would suggest is some weird form of Amish community and even THEY allow their children to see the world for a year. Either that, or leave the country altogether.
Be Ye Separate
this is why:
CATHOLICS MUST SEPARATE FROM UNBELIEVERS:
"Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. For what participation hath justice with injustice? Or what fellowship hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath the faithful with the unbeliever?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God saith:…

Wherefore, Go out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing:

And I will receive you; and I will be a Father to you; and you shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
