Little Ratzinger Becomes Maxi-Bergoglio

Not About Unity. The suppression of the Roman Mass by Traditionis Custodes is not, as claimed, about the Church’s unity, the Polish lecturer Tomasz Dekert from the Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow explained. On the contrary, Dekert sees a schism based on the alienation of the hierarchical and academic elites from the ordinary faithful. For him, this has already become apparent with the introduction of the New Mass. For Dekert, this schism began when Church elites developed feelings of omnipotence and wanted to change the Church according to their own ideas. The Old Rite was accepted by all Catholics, regardless of social classes, political opinions, and cultural background. The New Mass caused this unity to break down as non-traditional rituals were imposed on the Church from above.

Anarchic utopians: "Unity" means submission

Unity Means Submission. For George Neumayr, Francis' approach is visible in a statement, Benedict XVI made about Vatican II theologians when he said that anarchic utopians wanted to create a new religion. Neumayr believes that with Traditionis Custodes Francis wants to abolish the Old Liturgy. However, this would disconnect the Council Church from the apostolic religion. Quote: "For a religion based on tradition, the suppression of tradition makes no sense, unless the goal is to fundamentally change that religion." When Francis talks about unity, he means the unquestioned acceptation of his project.

Council Theology Incompatible with Apostolic Religion

Incompatibility. Traditionis Custodes is not about the liturgy, but about the interpretive authority over Vatican II, Shaun Blanchard writes in ChurchLifeJournal. With Summorum Pontificum, Benedict XVI wanted to establish a link between the Apostolic Liturgy and post-conciliar theology. Francis has now qualified this project as a failure. Traditionis Custodes shows the incompatibility between the Roman liturgy and Council theology.

Opportunist: Little Ratzinger becomes Maxi-Bergoglio

Opportunist. Cardinal Cañizares of Valencia banned the Old Mass in his diocese, thus morphing from little Ratzinger, as he used to be called, to maxi-Bergoglio. During the Ratzinger pontificate, Cañizares staged himself as a friend of Summorum Pontificum and celebrated the Old Mass. He wrote several prefaces to books on Summorum Pontificum, one of which was penned by Monsignor Nicola Bux. As the Liturgy Prefect, Cañizares defended the old liturgy. But in July, he was one of few bishops worldwide to ban the Roman Rite in his diocese. SecretumMeumMihi points out that even the most extreme Bergoglio bishops are proceeding cautiously and allowing the Old Mass.
Dr Bobus
BXVI brought Cañizares to Rome to head the Cong of Rites and to implement a Reform of the Reform. Below is a complete list of the Cardinal's accomplishments in the RotR. .

Cañizares played the careerist game well, cultivating the powerful by pretending to be on their side.
