Truth, Love and Resurrection January 26, 2020, III Sunday of O.T. Sunday of the Word of God! Dear brothers and sisters, the liturgy of the Holy Mass of Sunday January 26 , especially the passage from the Gospel of Matthew, proposes, once more, the metaphor of light to invite us to deepen the Person and Mission of Jesus. The question is: In which sense Jesus is the Light of the world , the light of every man? In this short video I would like to mention only three of the many meanings of the beautiful metaphor of light: First of all, Jesus illuminates our mind with the light of Truth, purifying it from the darkness of ignorance, error and falsehood, but purity of mind alone is not enough ... With the Light of His love, Jesus purifies our hearts from selfishness, that is when we are slave Unto ourselves , which is the root of all sins, making our hearts capable of truly loving God, our brothers and sisters, ourselves and the whole creation. Eventually with the light of the Resurrection Jesus purifies our bodies setting them definitively free from the corruption of death to make them glorious like His. Purity of mind, heart and body therefore, are the wonderful effects of the Light that Jesus brings to us! Dear brothers and sisters, on January 26, we celebrate also, by Pope Francis' will, the first Sunday of the Word of God. Let us feed ourselves daily on this "divine food" and let the light of Truth and Love that the Risen One radiate through his Word transform our whole life!
