Professor Douglas Farrow: “Bergoglian Church" Is An "Antichristic" and "False Church"

A Church called to be "ever more synodal," to be "made flesh," and to be "incarnated in existing cultures," is a "Bergoglian church” and not the Catholic Church, Douglas Farrow analyses on FirstThings.com (October 17).

Farrow is professor of Theology and Christian Thought at the public McGill University in Montreal, Canada. A convert to the Church, he is a father of five children.

A Church which is self-divinising, substituting Christ, is thus anti-christic, “It is a false church," Farrow continues.

He observes that this assessment leads to the question “of how both, the true Church and the false, can have the same pontiff.”

[Argentinean Father Julio Meinvielle who died in 1973 speaks in his book “From Kabbalah to Progressism” precisely about this phenomenon.]

The more we acquire the perspective of reality, the more we come to see that the problem is that two entirely different and opposed religions are occupying the same institution, one by right as an heir, and the other by violent usurpation.
It's always entertaining to see all the arm-chair canon lawyers in the comments section criticizing their intellectual betters on what is or is not "logically impossible". The whole "Benedict's da real pope" thing has been done to death by now. He resigned. Quit. Finis. Get over it. Besides, one day he's going to die. Who's the Pope then, hmmmm?

Professor Farrow, an otherwise clever fellow (who penned the immortal line on Antipope Francis: "Is the Pope Catholic? used to be an answer...now it's a question."), concludes his article that Francis, whom he deems pope, is the head simultaneously of the Church and an Anti-Church. This conclusion is false and in fact logically impossible, and worse, belies Christ's words that: "Thou art Peter, …More

Viva il Papa! Viva Pope Benedict! Our only sovereign pontiff and Vicar of Christ living today.
