The Star of Heaven that nourished the Lord
drove away the plague of death which the first
parents of man brought into the world. May
this bright Star now vouchsafe to extinguish
that foul constellation whose battles have
slain the people with the wound of death.
O most pious Star of the Sea, preserve us from
pestilence; hear us, O Lady, for Thy Son honours
Thee by denying Thee nothing. Save us, O Jesus,
for whom Thy Virgin Mother supplicates Thee.
V: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R: That we may be made worthy of the promises
of Christ.

Let us pray

O God of mercy, God of pity, God of benign clemency,
Thou Who hast had compassion on the affliction of Thy
people, and hast said to the angel striking them, “Stop thy
hand;” for the love of this glorious Star, whose breasts
Thou didst sweetly drink as antidote for our crimes,
grant the assistance of Thy grace, that we may be safely freed
from all pestilence, and from unprovided death; and mercifully
save us from the gulf of eternal perdition: through Thee,
Lord Jesus Christ, King of Glory, who livest and reignest,
world without end. Amen.

Saint Charles Borromeo surely doesn't agree; on the other hand, Montini and Martini applaud, the first one with his toes and the second one with his ears !!!

Common sense tells me to stay away from crowds when there is a chance of becoming fatally ill. God gave us common sense, He wants us to use it. If you think you are sick and have to go to Mass please keep your fingers out of the holy water font. Your lack of prudence may unknowingly cause death to another.

The upside is that the Novus Ordo will not be said for a time

That’s why the televised Masses and/or suspension of Masses, etc. etc. are all ridiculous!

Besides the Archbishop of Milan, also the Patriarch of Venice has suspended all masses sine die, including funerals.

Is all sinning suspended? Is there no faith in Jesus or our Lord God? What has happened to the mystical faith of the Church, Priests and in this case Bishops?

I'm fairly certain the mystical faith of the Church died out sometime after 1962, Jim Dorchak At least among the ruling classes in the Church. I'm certain and much comforted by the knowledge there are exceptions to the rule. But this kind of enthusiasm to suspend Mass and essential priestly duties betrays the true spiritual landscape of the men making these decisions.

I'm certain and much comforted by the knowledge there are exceptions to the rule. But this kind of enthusiasm to suspend Mass and essential priestly duties betrays the true spiritual landscape of the men making these decisions.

They have no desire to follow the saints' example, no desire to distinguish themselves in a time of crisis, no desire to follow Christ's example whatsover. Instead, they seek to do just the opposite at every turn.

A church without services, a church with closed churches, a church without God. That fits in with the confusing time, with this today, that fits with the chatter, that fits with the eclipse of God. Not even a virus will tear out.

A week or so, I sarcastically predicted something like this would happen. Sadly, priests will simply have to defy the bishop.

90 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Lombardy region; more than 40 other cases in northern Italy.

Yes, this is not an insignificant happenstance. Even those who cling with a good heart to their nervous order are having it pried from their trembling hands and they are being left without
Church by that church. Get on your knees and cry out to God as you have been left as graceless as a Protestant who doesn't even know he is missing the sacraments.

What's all this I hear prophesied about the sacraments not being available before the end?
