Vatican Hides Document On Gender-Confused Persons
Neither text has ever been published, PillarCatholic.com (December 17) writes. The bishops had the document ready but the Vatican requested to wait for a forthcoming CDF text.
The CDF text noted that some people erroneously contrast the different elements that make up a person's sex and construct an dichotomy between body and sex, adding that it is "difficult" to admit gender-confused persons to marriage because a person who amputated the sexual organs ("who undergoes a surgical procedure for sexual reassignment") cannot validly contract a marriage.
Further, a man who "feels" that he is a "female" is unsuited for becoming a priest, and a woman who thinks she is a "man" is incapable of receiving Holy Orders. Nevertheless, adults who have amputated their sexual organs can be admitted to the Eucharist, under the same conditions as all other faithful if there is no danger of scandal. A footnote even refers to the need of confession before receiving Communion.
On the other hand, the text uses the "case by case" trick to allow gender-confused persons to be sponsors, catechists or even distributors of Communion.
