La Croix Bishop William Callahan, Wisconsin, has forbidden most Roman Masses as of January 1 implementing rigid Francis' Traditionis Custodes.
He “allows” only three non-parochial locations: Guadalupe Shrine, St. Mary’s Oratory, and Cor Jesu Oratory. Callahan is a “conservative.”
Cardinal Burke was ordained for La Crosse and was bishop there (1994-2003). He regularly celebrates Mass at the Guadalupe Shrine whose fundraising letter he published on January 4.
Father Michael Klos who used to celebrate Mass in La Crosse Diocese told LifeSiteNews.com that he plans to preside Novus Ordo Eucharists in Latin ad orientem. Callahan “has left open the [impossible] possibility” that he could get a permission to celebrate Mass “sometime in the future,” but only if Francis loosens his current rigid restrictions.
The same Callahan suspended 2021 Father Altman for criticising Biden.
