"Anger Towards the Hierarchy Will Increase" - Old Rite Abbot

Francis may "suppress" the Roman Mass but it will continue “in a more or less clandestine and illicit way,” Old Rite Benedictine Abbot Philip Anderson told LaNef.net (May 25).

Anderson heads Clear Creek Abbey, Oklahoma, a Fontgombault foundation with more than 50 monks.

After Traditionis Custodes Roman Rite Catholics live in a "quasi-schism." Consequently, "anger towards the hierarchy will increase, many young people will stop practicing the faith, and a certain sadness will invade the Church," Anderson analysis.

As an alternative Francis could embrace what is "a new impetus in Christian life" and make the interest in the ancient rite "fully Catholic.”

Anderson tells Francis that the Roman Rite is “no longer [and never has been] a matter of old people clinging to nostalgic memories, but of young people discovering their own heritage.”

American traditionalists are "very divers," Anderson observes. Francis impression that there is "a fierce traditionalism that defies the authorities" comes "mainly from a relatively small number of journalists or individuals who write in the context of blogs, sometimes for many readers,” Anderson believes.

You cannot be in schism for not obeying an evil order, no matter what it’s source.

There are still parishes, oratories, and religious in the West that have the TLM. It depends on the bishop.

Francis is not the source of the persecution. He is merely an instrument.

Yes he is the source. Bishops were not instigating it. I think person most interested in destruction of Latin Mass is Francis (and only secondary liberal bishops, especially Roach). Francis WILL be gone soon fortunatly, and persecution will end with new Pope, who surprisingly will be nothing like Francis. Francis WILL be gone soon fortunatly, and persecution will end with new Pope, who surprisingly will be nothing like Francis. The one strongly Francis contender, Zuppi, is discredited by gay scandal in his Archdiocese, and Tagle is hated by many cardinals. Parolin won'r get it, he's stained by the London building scandal and China. Next Pope will be only alittle to the right of Benedict XVI, but will allow the Latin Mass even more that he did.......and young enough so that his rulings, and cancellations of Francis' dictates will have time to set in. He might restore the Sedia, but not the crown. But he will allow back the cappa magnas for Cardinals.

He is correct. But "After Traditionis Custodes Roman Rite Catholics live in a quasi-schism. Consequently, anger towards the hierarchy will increase, many young people will stop practicing the faith, and a certain sadness will invade the Church." This happened fifty years ago as well.
