Problems are back
Dear Fr
I am not sure if you are aware of the abuses of the Blessed Sacrament that took place at St Mary’s on Ash Wednesday?
Mr N has further details and perhaps discussed this and the measures needed to prevent this reoccurring.

My experience and great shock was looking up and seeing a young girl back in her seat displaying a Host between her forefinger and thumb to those around her. Then taking a bite like one eating a biscuit, she then displayed to all the Host but with now a bite missing from the Host. I did make an attempt to intervene but it all happened to fast.
This girl received the Host from a Eucharistic Minister. I believe that this was no fault of her own but a fault of the “system”. To the unbeknown it looks like any line up of food and taken in the hand like any food would be.
Also an incident occurred over the other side, again a boy walked back to his seat holding a Host and not knowing what to do was stopped in time from depositing the Host in his pocket.
On another topic I note in the Cathedral. Only 5% of all communicants are standing still while they self communicate. All others are communicating on the move. One is reminded of a drive through, not the decorum to reflect the "the source and summit of the Christian life."
Why do only 30% of Catholics believe in the True Presence?
“Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems. Throw away the solution and you get the problem back. Sometimes the problem has mutated or disappeared. Often it is still there as strong as it ever was.”
Donald Kingsbury,
Please consider all this.
Yours sincerely
