Nottingham Bishop Patrick McKinney, 66, England, threatened to suspend priests who are caught in administering Holy Communion on the tongue.
ChurchMilitant.com (July 9) has learned of several priests who wish to distribute Communion correctly but are terrified of being reported and banned from celebrating Mass. One anonymous priest even spoke of a “Stalinist state of intimidation and terror.”
The guidelines (July 7) of the English Bishops about the reopening of the churches require Communion to “be given silently in the hand only, with the communicant standing, and avoiding any physical contact.”
Scientifically, more viruses are transmitted when distributing Communion in the hand than by placing it directly on the tongue.

Deplorable! What a horrible sacrilege to our Blessed Lord!

His a vatican ii know all just like the spirit of vatican ii he has attached himself to the world while stating he supports the church well vatican also claims it supports the way of the church while also coming up with the mumbo jumbo that supports world standards. In the end all we have now, because of Vatican ii and those who follow the Jmy standard is confusion unless one happens to be of the Traditional Latin Rite where there is no confusion about the Blessed Sacrament. That, once the host is consecrated it is The Body Blood Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and it must be respect with the utmost reverence, if it is not respected as it should be then we have couple of problems;
(1) Worshipping a pagan idol because ones actions testify to ones belief and because it's not consecrated, according to the way people act then receiving it would also make it sacrilegious.
(2) Worshipping Our Lord if one believes that he is present in the Blessed sacrament without respect and reverence adding to that reciving Him while not in a state of grace.
Both of these cause other problems, when instructing others to follow, be they ones own children or others that they hope to be saved, how are these newcomers going to see the reverence and respect, when the reverence and respect, is not made visable.
To paraphrase St Paul to continue too consumme Our Lord in such a manner is to consumme ones own condemnation.

Excellent comments and points; absolutely true! I veil at Church; out of respect for the Real Presence, but also trying to be an example to others, bringing awareness that we are in the Presence of the Lord +
Communion on the hand, distributed by a priest or deacon, is not sacrilegious.

Just a legalized abuse of The Most Blessed Sacrament
@rhemes1582 if a person's hands are unclean, so is his entire body. Including his tongue. What makes a person clean in the eyes of God is the sacrament of confession. Once free from sin, in a state of grace, no reverent communicant can abuse the sacrament.

You argue against the Saints and Doctors of the Church.
I do not.

@rhemes1582 Maybe I am a doctor of the church? I'm at least on sound theological ground here. Also, John Paul 2 kissed a Quran.

Jmy1975 My words are their words (book shown here with intro by Bishop Schneider).
Best you let them instruct you, as they instruct me.

@rhemes1582 So far your words haven't proven anything.

There are 2 great take away lines from the article:
From the Priest, Fr Victor Grech: “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to wipe down the entire church before the next batch of germ spreaders arrives.”
and from one of the churchgoers:
“I think the best way to fight this disease is for Catholics to come together in large numbers inside enclosed spaces with little ventilation and pray to the Almighty …More

Thanks, o.k. I see that it's authentic but when I saw the priest dressed up in World War Z garb - disrespecting Our Lord, I would have got up and walked out.

Where on earth did that real photo come from?
That can't possibly be real. Must be staged.

Thanks HC. We have similar issues in our diocese and those around us. (Without the spaceman suit)
The imagery does not say God is here.
The message is Danger, stay away.
Clearly the work of Antichrist.

Amazing how the once "special exception" has not only become the rule, but now the dictatorial edict of the bishops. Typical UK fail.
