The Vatican has concluded that Kraków Auxiliar Bishop Jan Szkodoń, 74, is innocent, the Warsaw nunciature disclosed on July 23.
However, the statement alleged that Szkodoń had “acted imprudently” towards an anonymous Monika, 15, by receiving her in his private residence, despite the fact that he had known her and her parents for years.
Therefore, Szkodoń was ordered to undertake a “three-month closed retreat” which he has already fulfilled as he had been living in a monastery in eastern Poland since February 2020 when lurid false accusations against him were invented and published by the Polish fake-news Gazeta Wyborcza.
Szkodoń is known for being quiet, humble, prayerful, with an artistic soul, a great sensitivity, very respectful, and open towards people. He has greatly suffered, mentally and physically, from the slander and is now in very bad health. His detractor is now employed by a Krakow university.
