Beginning of Lent: Let Us Do Our Part So She Can Do Hers.
Are we not in a similar situation as the Israelites of old even who faced the seemingly invincible army of Holofernes? There are truly many forces arrayed about against us on all levels. For those with eyes to see, it is truly harrowing, and yet we have what it takes to defeat them… nothing has changed. As Judith indicated, this is not for destruction but for our amendment. These things are less than we deserve! But the good news is this: we have what it takes to gain the victory! The weapons are same as those used at the time of Judith: the priesthood, prayer, fasting, Sacrifice of the altar, using our memory and unflinching devotion to the Blessed Virgin. Lent is now here. Let’s do our part, so she can do hers.
