How TFP Volunteers Find Rest in the High Peaks.

Like few other places, the beauty of God’s creation stands out in the high peaks of the Adirondack Mountains, giving TFP volunteers a good break from the leftist college campus scene. We packed a standard and banner to take to the high peaks. This time, from the summit of Big Slide Mountain, our banner message read, “May God protect America from socialism.” Since some of the members in the party were new to winter hiking, we decided to do a warmup hike to Cascade and Porter Mountains on the first day, just to get our feet wet. As it turned out, we had to fight strong gusts of wind and sheets of rain all morning. Several in our group compared today’s challenge with the climb up Mount Marcy last year -- the highest peak in New York– that took place in whiteout conditions and was offered to God in reparation for the legalization of late term abortion in the Empire State. "we had to fight strong gusts of wind and sheets of rain all morning." Then you accomplished your objective in getting your feet wet. :D Serious suggestion: one word, Baffin. Pricey but some of the best winter boots you can buy. Those old "Vietnam" style hooded ponchos work great as a portable umbrella if you don't mind looking ridiculous during the hike.
