Francis lamented on the feast of Epiphany about those whose religion he said was self-referential and encased in a “suit of armour”, “Have we been stuck all too long, nestled inside a conventional, external and formal religiosity that no longer warms our hearts and changes our lives?”
And, “Do our words and our liturgies ignite in people's hearts a desire to move towards God, or are they a 'dead language' that speaks only of itself and to itself?”
Talking about his self-referential Synod on Synods, he said that the task is “to journey together, to listen to one another, so that the Spirit can suggest to us new ways and paths to bring the Gospel to hearts of those who indifferent, distant, and without hope.”

No, Jorge, we don't "listen to one another." We listen to the inspired Word, which is made available to us when children by those who have received it themselves and have given it to us-- all the way back to the Apostles who first gave us the inspired word..
Prayhard
Why can't that lewd old fag just go already?
SHJ-IHM
A "religiosity that no longer warms our hearts and changes our lives"? He certainly hasn't listened to anyone who favors Latin Mass!
Scapular
Probably exactly, what the people at Tower of Babel expressed!

I am a master builder, I can see all!

El Francesco forgets this "dead language" is still in common use in the medical and legal professions, meaning it isn't dead at all.
Darice Henriques
Yes, it's dead because it was nailed to the Cross with our Savior! This 'dead' language proclaimed Our Lord King in place of Herod, false king. Quod scripsi, scripsi ("What I have written, I have written") remains for all us, for all ages to come.
Tony M
Talk about 'dead language'....Jorge will be a 'dead duck' if he does not convert back to the True Catholic Faith & abandon his heretical, blasphemous and pachamama idol worshipping ways!!

It seems the psychiatric sessions PF had were deficient in time and duration back when he was 42. He has so much about which he is still so fixated upon (obsessed?) and working out.
Rand Miller
Can he speak without spewing venom on the Catholic Faith?
Ultraviolet
Sure. Just get him going on climate change. :P
Scapular
God comes to our liturgies and sifts through what stinks of human and what is pleasing to Almighty God.
Scapular
Latin Dead to humans and alive to God!
It’s all about God not us.

Well, I for one will not...I will cling to the Church of the Ages and all its riches....just as Lefebvre and SSPX have done from the very beginning.
Ultraviolet
You 'n the SSPX have no problem "rolling over like obedient puppies" when this man granted the SSPX the faculties to hear confessions from Catholics and to celebrate Catholic marriages. Those "sentiments and directives" suit you just fine, don't the? ;-)

Latin is alive and well in the true Church. Francis hates it because he hates tradition.
Pieter Wycoff
Our SSPX chapel is expanding so much that a new building is in the works. The polarization that Francis is spearheading is opening the eyes of many Catholics.

There's already 1 traditional monastery in Italy, well known and flourishing, which was allowed the Tridentine Latin Mass under "Summorum Pontificum" and now states that they will not obey Bergoglio, but will be obedient to tradition. Another in Germany, although small, has begun to join the SSPX rather than to abandon their monastery of 28 nuns and follow the evil dictates of Francis. More and more …More

More and more, faithful Catholic are not afriad of this tyrant, heretic Pope, and are basically standing with tradition and telling Bergoglio and his Vatican to basically "Go to H---!"
Les Crispi
What could be more alive than a language sanctified by Christ?
Ave Crux
@Les Crispi Beautiful....I will think of that frequently at Mass now. What a thought...!
Les Crispi
@Ave Crux Pontius Pilate wrote the first words proclaiming Jesus as King, in Latin, over Jesus' head. So I try and remember that often.
John A Cassani
The Mass that he promotes is in the “dead language”of the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s. The Mass he hates is in the most lively language of Truth.

CANON IX.--If any one saith, that the rite of the Roman Church, according to which a part of the canon and the words of consecration are pronounced in a low tone, is to be condemned; or, that the mass ought to be celebrated in the vulgar tongue only; or, that water ought not to be mixed with the wine that is to be offered in the chalice, for that it is contrary to the institution of Christ; let him be anathema.
