The attempt of the German bishops to allow German Protestants to receive Communion in “individual cases” is “a tactical move” in order to introduce Communion for all Non-Catholics, said Cardinal Walter Brandmüller, 89, a convert from Protestantism.
Talking to the Austrian kath.net (March 6), Brandmüller shows that the German bishops use “salami tactics” and calls this “utterly dishonest”.
According to the cardinal, the account of the German bishops that there are Protestants starving for the Eucharist who need help, is a "melodramatic staging, not to say kitsch”. Brandmüller asks the question why the German bishops' starving Protestants do not simply convert to the Church.

Brandmüller's common sense question really needs to be answered. In other words, a "melodramatic staging" or "kitsch" seems to be a best-case scenario.
