Monsignor Gianluca Pezzoli, 58, who lives in Santa Maria, is in intensive care with coronavirus, MarcoTosatti.com (March 25) writes.
Pezzoli is the head of the Italian section of the Secretary of State. People who know him call him reserved, sober and a great worker, “He is certainly not a worldly monsignor.”
For Tosatti it is “very probable” that he was infected inside the Vatican.
The Italian Section is the biggest section of the Secretary of State, therefore it is likely that Pezzoli infected many others.
According to Tosatti presently only five people living at Santa Marta. All of them are in isolation because suspected of having contracted the virus.
Francis lives in seclusion. He spends the majority of his time in his apartment on the top floor. His personal secretary brings him lunch and dinner.
In his youth, Francis had parts of his lung removed. “The fact that Francis decided to eat alone, in his own room, indicates that he is very worried,” Tosatti writes.
