Actually, if you truly cared about the subject, you would have asked "But just who is the pope" a long time before Benedict. It will be interesting to see what your "catholic duty" suggests after Benedict XVI's passing.

Oh, you care about the truth, do you? The truth is many people find evidence of doctrinal heresy in the last four popes just as you do with Francis. It is you who are indifferent to the truth because you refuse to exonerate these men.

As for Benedict XVI... well. He's had quite a few more, several advanced when he was stil Cardinal Ratzinger which calls into his papal validity. Not that he's a "sitting pope" anymore and that is what you demanded.
