"Had Auschwitz been an anomaly, they wanted to know, or is there a Nazi hiding in each of us?" Surely not among the good Catholics posting on GTV! ;-) This is a spectacular discovery, @Jungerheld Once again, reality disproves the fantasies leftist teachers promote as a substitute.

Modern schools adore this book as a tool to promote several important points of their leftist. inherently negative world-view, including:

-Christianity is a a bad thing. Christians are bad people.

The "savage" tribe, was originally a Church choir.

-Liberty is a bad thing.

Only the State can ensure order. Without it, people immediately lapse into tribal slaughter.

-Knives are weapons first and weapons are bad.

These concepts are much beloved among the left, particularly in the UK and exemplified by British law today.

-Hunting and eating meat is savage behaviour and therefore bad.

Again, it's the "villains" who hunt and kill the pig and at the end, they've already started hunting one of the other boys.

This list is just from memory. I'm sure the "lesson plans" circulating in today's public-school teachers' lounges are much more thorough.
