History Repeats Itself As a Farce: Francis Warns Against “Prophets of Doom”
Yesterday, Pope Francis opened the Synod of Bishops on the Youth with a mass in St Peter's Square. In his homily, he urged the delegates not to be smothered by - quote: "prophets of doom". John XXIII was the first to warn of "prophets of doom" in his opening speech at the beginning of Second Vatican Council. Karl Marx points out that all great world-historical facts occur twice, the first time as a tragedy, and the second time as a farce.
Delegates From the Communist Party

Francis either does't know, or he has conveniently overlooked the fact that Pope John XX111 tried to have the Council aborted. Yes that's correct! The Council had been 'high jacked' by revolutionaries, namely the Jesuit peritis who were advising their Bishops on the theological discussion points. Two major rival camps emerged. The Progressives and the Conservatives. Ascendancy was achieved by the Progressives and by 'their fruits' we all have lost our way. Hence the severe mess the Church finds herself in. Warning against 'Prophets of Doom' will not put the Church back on course. 'Hoping it will all go away' - which appears what Francis is hoping for- is even a more bizarre position to take. CHRIST'S Church should be a beacon for all mankind. Given the depth of sinfulness in the very heart of the church, nothing short of a spiritual cleansing will result in the world once again seeing the Beacon of Christian welcome shining from St. Peters church.
