We must be careful because we may miss the point. One thing are revelations of Hartl and his credibility, and another what US intelligence did with such revelations, in particular those referring to "an alternative to liberal Americanism".

Any hope for a Christian EU is all but lost.

In so far as Germany is so important to the EU, the neglect of the situation of the Church in Germany during the reign of JPII makes little sense. Nb: During those years Cardinal Ratzinger tried to warn those in power that something must be done in Germany. He was ignored.

Bulgaria is Orthodox, and so Catholic-Orthodox Ecumenism is connected to the plan for united Europe.
