You didn't mention the plagiarizer/blasphemer simply because he's one of your dear friends and friends don't publicly correct other friends. Besides, you're both cut from the same prideful cloth. He manifests his ego by posting the works of others as if they were his own. You manifest your ego by a perpetual condescending attitude shown repeatedly toward numerous people at this site.

No matter. The two of you have been outed.

Incidentally, I have a recommendation for you, Salieri.

Having been discovered as a fraud, your excuse for your action is that others upload videos to Gloria.tv without attribution so, therefore, you are permitted to post the written material created by others and pretend that it is your own.

You are mistaken on several counts. To review what plagiarism actually is I will repeat what I've posted earlier on this thread.
------------------

Plagiarism:

In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.
-----------------------------------------------

I don't recall anyone uploading any video and claiming it to be their own unless it actually was there own production.

In most cases, the source of the video is prominently displayed in the title or a discription (implied or specific) of the source is included within the uploaded video itself. In any case, I don't recall anyone EVER attempting to use the video produced by another party and then lying about the source of that video.

You, however, have repeatedly stolen the written material from others and you then willingly accepted the praise from others without indicating that you had not actually written that material.

In effect, you are not “merely” a plagiarist. You are a liar as well.

Nevertheless, well said!

Did you attempt to clarify that you had not actually written the post that this person was praising (well said)?
==================================
No, you did not. You accepted the praise (well said!) without correcting the poster. Instead of honestly admitting to him and to others that the material you posted was not written by you but was actually copied from another source, you simply accepted the compliment. This is NOT the first time you've done this.

In short, you are a plagiarist, a liar, a phony and a disgrace.

With your question you have shifted the focus from the accused plagiarizer, to the motive of the accuser (Holy Cannoli).

Basically, “Is Holy Cannoli acting from bias or is his focus actually on the truth as he claims?”

Let me begin by saying that even if Holy Cannoli were a very wicked individual who led a dissolute life filled with wine, women and song, would that in any way lessen the changes and the clear evidence that another poster at Gloria.tv was guilty of plagiarism?

It would not.

The plagiarizing poster would be just as guilty of fraud and deceit regardless. If Holy Cannoli were lax in morals or if Holy Cannoli were as pure and innocent as Thérèse of Lisieux, the character of the accuser does not affect the crimes committed by the accused. We each are responsible for our own actions regardless of what others do or say about us.

If we are innocent of charges leveled, then we ought to offer a zealous defense. If we are guilty of the charges and irrefutable proof has been presented, then we should apologize to all who have been negatively impacted by our actions and make restitution if applicable.

Would you have attacked the posting if the poster were someone else?

When plagiarism occurs on a regular basis, as it has with the poster in question, it is not difficult to detect. In addition to being easily identified, it is especially loathsome when the plagiarizing poster repeatedly fakes piety and holiness in his posts. Deceit, especially when habitual, is unbecoming for anyone especially a Christian on a Catholic message board. Wouldn't you agree, Sofia?

Would I have spotted the plagiarism if were written by another poster?

I don't read all the posts here nor do I view all the videos But, so far, I don't think plagiarism has occurred or, if it has, there have been only isolated incidents.

But, who knows? I am not part of the Gloria.tv Plagiarism Police (Gloria.tv Plagiarism Police?!?) but if the plagiarism did happen with regularity, if I spotted it, and, especially, if that poster feigned piety and holiness in his/her plagiarized posts, then the answer is Yes. I believe I would point out that case of plagiarism as surely as I pointed it out this time.

I hope I've answered your question satisfactorily, Sofia.

HC,
Yeah, plagiarism is right up there with copyright violations (a form of plagiarism). People don't seem to care much about it when they make their videos for internet distribution.

That's not the issue, Sofia. Ideas are shared every day in nearly every post throughout the Internet. What I have been addressing is PLAGIARISM and I will now explain to you what it means to plagiarize.

Basically, PLAGIARISM is literary THEFT claiming copied material as one's own without crediting the source. It is serious despite what you and some others think.

I will post some definitions and link to a very important internet site. I hope you read it all. Afterward, tell me if you still “do not see a problem” regarding plagiarism.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------

What is Plagiarism?

Many people think of plagiarism as copying another's work, or borrowing someone else's original ideas. But terms like "copying" and "borrowing" can disguise the seriousness of the offense:

According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means

to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own to use (another's production) without crediting the source
to commit literary theft
to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

But can words and ideas really be stolen?

According to U.S. law, the answer is yes. The expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property, and is protected by copyright laws, just like original inventions. Almost all forms of expression fall under copyright protection as long as they are recorded in some way (such as a book or a computer file).

All of the following are considered plagiarism:

turning in someone else's work as your own
copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
copying so many words or ideas from a source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not (see our section on "fair use" rules)

Most cases of plagiarism can be avoided, however, by citing sources. Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed, and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source, is usually enough to prevent plagiarism. See our section on citation for more information on how to cite sources properly.

Being an egotist, you would like others to believe that you are the one who has been harmed but nothing could be further from the truth.

As you have done before, you plagerized the work of another writer and you posted that work (modifying it slightly to hide your crime) as if you had written it.

I discovered your plagiarism (as I've discovered on other occasions), pointed it out to everyone at Gloria.tv and you fault me for exposing your lie.

Yours is an absolutely pathetic and obvioius display of ego and deceit. Yet, you still don't get it.

Somethings never change.

Stealing is a sin and plagiarizing the intellectual property of others and presenting it as one's own is stealing /plagiarism.

Changing an occasional word, pasting from several different sources or clipping a few lines here and there only adds to the subterfuge but changes nothing. A thief and a liar remains a thief and a liar.
