The name of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Rome will no longer be styled after the pope who founded it, but will be called “Institute of Studies on the Family”. The Institute will also lose its independence and will be incorporated within the Pontifical Lateran University.
According to Sandro Magister this will allow to reshape the body of professors, who according to the present course in the Vatican are too faithful to John Paul II and too critical of the controversial document Amoris Laetitia.
The Institute has many satellites around the world. It remains to be seen what will happen to them.
