It is only in the English-speaking countries that it is called "SSPX"

In contrast, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (in Latin Fraternitas sacerdotalis Sancti Petri) is a clerical society of apostolic life of pontifical right: the members of the congregation postpone the acronym F.S.S.P.

It was erected by Pope John Paul II on July 18, 1988 based at the former Cistercian abbey of Hauterive (Switzerland) for the priests and seminarians who had left the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X.
This is very erudite @Francesco I , but I am referring to "branding" as English uses the term... creating common recognition of a product, organization, service, etc.

For many years, the SSPX used "SSPX". If you google "SSPX" you get "Society of Saint Pius X". Official site? sspx.org/en. All SSPX.

If you google "FSSP" you get "Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter". Official site? www.fssp.…More

So why, then does the SSPX run a second site, https://fsspx.org? Why, when you visit that site, does the title bar still say "SSPX"?

This only causes confusion. The SSPX knows the FSSP exists. So why try to confuse the abbreviations with another very similar organization, except on purpose?
The Society of Saint Pius X should stop trying to imply they're connected with the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter. It was always the "SSPX" (just like on their official web-site sspx.org/en) and the "FSSP". This "FSSPX".abbreviation is a deliberate attempt to confuse people.
If people cannot see that FSSPX and FSSP are not the same term, we'd better all go back to bed....

It was FSSPX before it was FSSP.
