Luis María Mendizábal, SJ
Luis María Mendizábal, SJ was born in Vergara (Guipúzcoa) on June 4, 1925. He entered the Society of Jesus in Loyola (Guipúzcoa) on August 28, 1940. He was ordained a priest on July 25, 1952, and made his final vows on August 15, 1958. He was Professor of Ascetics and Mysticism at the Pontifical Gregorian University, President of the National Secretariat of the Apostleship of Prayer, National Director of the Apostleship of Prayer and of the magazine “Reino de Cristo”, among other positions and activities. He died on January 18, 2018 in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) at the age of 92, after 77 years in the Society of Jesus and 65 years as a priest.
