Imagine living 70 years ago when you have a man in a white doctor’s coat and another young woman with downs syndrome. The man tells you that you must participate in a study for the good of science. If you do not agree, he tells you, your life will be very hard. But you have a choice.
Now imagine you are off the shores of Africa, not too many years ago and you are told to carry out a study on beagles for the good of science. You have to put a basket over the head of the beagles and observe the threshold pain as the sand flies eat their heads till they die.
Now imagine in the early 1970s, you are doing some research to help cure diseases. You are given parts of dead babies that were aborted and you need to save as many parts and cells as possible so that they can use these babies so that they in turn can use them in vaccinations, medicines, skin care products and even food. The Samaritan Who Loves.
Father Timothy Barr gave his homily on the Good Samaritan. He addresses the Good Samaritan from the Christian point of view. Then he addresses the Good Samaritan from a worldly secular socialistic point of view. He clearly demonstrates that the Christ-like selfless, charitable love is the only way to go, that in reality, socialism is a selfish, self-serving love that is not Christ-like and always ends in failure and heart ache.

Corpus Christi Novena Explanation
June 23 is the Feast Day of Corpus Christi, where we as Catholics honor Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament. All are invited to pray the novena prayer below. You can cut it out and pray it for the nine days of the novena. The Novena starts Friday, June 14.
Novena prayers are great for opening us up for the graces of special feast days like this. We look forward to honoring our savior Jesus and the graces He wants to give us.

Who Will You Bow Down To?
When we get to the end of our life, we will bow down to one or the other; Satan or Jesus. Satan offers us to do whatever we want, whereas Jesus gave us a way to follow, namely the Ten Commandments and the cross in this life. At the end of our life comes our final judgment. If we do what we want, we will be serving Satan and suffer eternity from him. If we follow Jesus, He will offer infinite love, joy and peace.
