gehen soll?

Holy-wins!

8. Los ‘turistas’,…More

Eucharistic Miracle of Eten, Peru
In 1649, in Eten, Peru, two other beautiful apparitions of Jesus appeared to crowds of faithful parishioners and to Jerome de Silva Manrique, a Franciscan monk. During the Vespers and the solemn exposition in honor of the feast of Corpus Christi, an apparition of the Child Jesus appeared in the Blessed Sacrament.
The second apparition appeared not long after the first one. The miracle happened during a celebration to honor St. Mary of Magdalene, Patroness of the city of Eten. And it also happened during the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Brother Marco Lopez, superior of the convent in Chiclayo, testified “The Divine Child Jesus again appeared in the Host, dressed in a purple tunic. Beneath it, he wore a shirt up to the middle of the chest, according to the custom of the South American Indians.”
In the second apparition,…More

Marie-Julie Jahenny was born in Coyault on February the 12th 1850 in the village of Blain in Brittany, France. When she was three or four, her family moved to a cottage in a hamlet called La Fraudais just northeast of Blain where she lived for the rest of her life. She was the eldest of five children, and as with many of God’s chosen souls, she came from a humble background. Her parents, Charles and Marie Boya, were hardworking and pious peasants. Little did they suspect that their daughter would be granted an extraordinary number of graces by Heaven and be given a special mission: to spread the love of the Cross and the importance of holy suffering, becoming a victim soul to make reparation to God and save sinners. Through her Heaven would remind the world of the coming chastisements foretold by so many other saints and mystics, and forewarned those who would listen on how to …More

In the year 1597, a thief stole consecrated Hosts along
with some precious objects from a church not far from
Alcalá, Spain. A few days later, the thief returned full
of profound remorse and went to confess his sins at
the church of the Jesuits. The priest who heard his
confession had him return the Hosts; however, for the sake
of prudence, the priest asked him to transport the Eucharist
in a silver box, without consuming the Sacred Species. After eleven years the Hosts were still perfectly intact and after careful analysis, both medical and theological, the act was declared miraculous. In 1619 ecclesiastical authorities officially authorized the veracity of the Miracle. The Holy Hosts were publicly adored before King Phillip III, who in 1620 presided over a solemn procession in which the whole royal family participated. When Charles III expelled the Jesuits from Spain, the Sacred Hosts were moved to the magisterial church. In 1936, when the communist revolutionists burned the church,…More

He wrote a remarkable work on the last book of the New Testament, the Revelation or the Apocalypse, which today is still held in high regard by Roman Catholics. He interpreted the book of the Apocalypse as follows: The seven stars and the seven candlesticks seen by St John signify seven periods of the history of the Church, from its foundation to its consummation at the final judgment. To these periods correspond the seven churches of Asia Minor, the seven days of the Mosaic record of creation, the seven ages before Christ, and the seven gifts of the Holy Ghost. Since, he claimed, all life is developed in seven stages, so God has fixed seven periods for regeneration.

In the time of Pope Gregory the Great (590-604) the fasting at Rome during Lent lasted six days excluding Sunday during the six weeks before Easter, making thirty-six fast days in all. At a later date the wish to realize the exact number of forty days led to the present practice of beginning Lent on Ash Wednesday. The Lenten season in the Catholic Church is connected with Jesus’ temptations after a forty-day fast when he undid the infidelity of the first Adam. Adam was called to be a priest, a prophet, and a king. As a priest he was called to be a conduit and protector of life. He was a conduit of life as a biological and spiritual father. God commanded Adam to “cultivate” and “care” for the garden of Eden (Gen 2:15) just before He gave Adam the command not to eat of “the tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Gen 2:17). The translation “care” is a weak rendering of the Hebrew word shamar, which means to “guard” or “defend.” This command conveys two ideas. First, it indicates there is …More
