Michigan House Passes Bill Punishing Coerced Abortion

Pro-life lawmakers in the Michigan House passed a bill on Thursday that would protect women from being pressured into having abortions.
The Detroit News reports the bill would strengthen the penalties for anyone who coerces a woman into having an abortion against her will.
State Rep. Amanda Price, R-Park Township, who sponsored the bill, said the measure will empower women.
“Employers threaten to demote or fire pregnant employees, college coaches threaten to take away scholarships, and parents too can be coercive,” Price said.
Studies show that coerced abortions are frequent, but they are often ignored by the abortion industry and its advocates.
Despite claiming to support a woman’s “right to choose,” most Michigan Democrats voted against the bill on Thursday. The local news report states the House Democrats claimed the bill was an unnecessary effort to appease pro-lifers.

Philadelphia Auto Show Will Auction Car Used by Pope.
wochitbusiness on Jan 20, 2016 At the end of the month, one of the Fiat 500L's that Pope Francis drove in during his trip to the States in September will be auctioned.
The dark gray four-door Fiat will be auctioned as part of the Philadelphia Auto Show black tie gala on Jan. 29.
Proceeds from the sale will go to select archdiocese ministries and the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania.
Bids will be accepted online as well as in person.

Earlier this week, the Lepanto Institute revealed that the president of the World Meeting of Families had donated thousands of dollars to political candidates that thoroughly support abortion and same-sex “marriage. He even donated $1,000 to a candidate who founded a Planned Parenthood facility in Philadelphia, and served as its executive director for 13 years.Even after repeated attempts to speak with Ken Gavin, the Archdiocesan Communications Director, through the phone and by email about this matter, the Archdiocese chose to ignore these attempts..

No Tolerance: According to Australian born Jesuit, Fr Mark Raper, the president of the Jesuit Provinces in the Asia-Pacific region, Pope Francis will – quote - “not tolerate” resistance to changes that came with the last Council, including a Church that is open to all – except to Catholic doctrine of cause. Raper told ucanews.com that the fundamental difference between Pope Francis and his predecessors is that he is "not just talking to the converted … he is talking to everyone,". Fr Raper is 73-year old.
Turning Away From Abomination: Fr Ray Blake tells the following story on his blog: “A few weeks ago I was walking down the main street here in the city in front of me was a heavily veiled Muslim women with two small children. A little further on were two chubby short haired women gazing into one another's eyes, they began to kiss. The Muslim mother immediately gathered her children to side and covered their faces with her coat.”
