Butler'sLivesoftheSaints The birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary announced joy and the near approach of salvation to the lost world; therefore is this festival celebrated by the church with praise and thanksgiving. It was a mystery of sanctity, and distinguished by singular privileges. Mary was brought forth into the world, not like other children of Adam, infected with the loathsome contagion of sin, but pure, holy, beautiful, and glorious, adorned with all the most precious graces which became her who was chosen to be the Mother of God. She appeared indeed in the weak state of our mortality; but in the eyes of heaven she already transcended the highest seraph in purity, brightness, and the richest ornaments of grace. I am black, but beautiful, O ye daughters of Jerusalem. The spouse says to her much more emphatically than to other souls sanctified by his choicest graces: As the lily among thorns, so is my beloved among the daughters. Thou art all fair, and there is not a spot in thee. …More

Marie-Julie Jahenny Breton pronunciation: [maˈʁiː ʒyˈliː ʒaɛˈniː] (Coyault, Blain, February 12, 1850 – La Fraudais, March 4, 1941) was a Breton mystic and stigmatist.
Marie-Julie Jahenny was born in a large peasant family, and later joined the Third Order of Saint Francis.
During her life, she reported several apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ through which she received prophecies about the end of the world, the Great Catholic Monarch, punishment for the sins of the people, the destruction of Paris through civil war, the Three Days of Darkness, and the coming of Antichrist.
From the age of twenty-three until her death, she bore the stigmata.According to the testimony of witnesses, she experienced miraculous Holy Communions, miraculous fasting periods to where she lived on no other food but the Eucharist for several years, suffered supernatural attacks from the devil, and had the gift of prophecy and miracles.

"Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshipped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age." – Matthew 28:16-20. This is the view from the Citadel of Jerusalem towards the Mount of Olives, that mountain mentioned in this Gospel, which is just "a Sabbath's day journey" (ie: 1.2km) from Jerusalem. From this mountain, the Lord ascended into heaven.

Born at Port-le-Grand (Porthieu) near Amiens, France; died there c. 600. Saint Honoratus was bishop of Amiens. He had a widespread cultus in France following reports of numerous miracles when his body was exhumed in 1060. The Faubourg church, built by a gentleman named Renaud Cherins, and rue Saint-Honoré in Paris are named after Saint Honoratus. He is also the patron of a chartreuse at Abbeville, which was founded in 1306 (Attwater, Benedictines, Delaney, Husenbeth). In art, Saint Honoratus is a bishop with three Hosts on a baker's shovel. Sometimes he may be shown with a large Host or with a hand reaching down from heaven to give him bread for the Mass (Roeder). He is the patron of bakers of holy wafers and others, confectioners, candle-makers, florists, flour merchants, oil refiners, and pastry chefs (Delaney, Roeder).
The St. Honoré cake, also known as St. Honoratus cake, is a pastry named for the French patron saint of bakers …More

Prompted by the Holy Spirit, Simeon and Anna came to the Temple. Enlightened by the same Spirit, they recognized the Lord and confessed him with exultation. So let us also, gathered together by the Holy Spirit, proceed to the house of God to encounter Christ.
