Millenial Reign Theories Vs. The Second Coming - When Do The Faithful "Reign With Christ A Thousand Years"? [Apoc. 20]
Some Protestants & others believe that before the Second Coming, Jesus will rule a secular kingdom on earth. What they fail to see is that 1) The millennial reign is not necessarily a secular reign. 2) a secular reign is incompatible with the wrath & final judgment prophesied to come with Jesus' return, & 3) the reign already occured. Apocalypse 20 prophesied the period when the kingdom of God on earth (the Catholic Church) would spiritually rule: Catholic empires, miracles, saints & missionaries spread the Gospel across the whole world — in a way that overwhelmingly surpassed any Protestant or "Orthodox" 'proselytizing' in success. The "thousand years" is not literal, as explained by St. Augustine:
Haydock Commentary on Revelation 20, 1811: “Cap. vii. p. 580, he [St. Augustine] says that some Catholics not understanding rightly the first resurrection, have been …More
Starting today is a 40-day devotion said every day until Christmas day, for the faithful to say 40 Hail Marys a day in honour of the Holy Delivery of the Blessed Virgin Mary:
The 40 "Ave Maria" In Honor of Her Sacred Delivery
(November 29th - December 25th)
[“The devotion commonly called the 40 Ave Maria was first devised and afterwards continually practiced by St. Catherine of Bologna; its object being to dispose the faithful during Advent for the devout celebration of the Sacred Delivery of Mary on Christmas Day... Indulgence of 100 days to the faithful, for each day that they practice this devotion fervently and with a contrite heart...” 80. The Raccolta, 1857]
Pope Pius VII, Diu Satis, #6 , May 15, 1800: “… men should realize that all attempts to overthrow the “House of God” are in vain. For this is the Church founded on Peter, “Rock,” not merely in name but in truth. Against this “the gates of hell will not prevail” [Matthew 16:18] “for it is founded on a rock.” [Matthew 7:24-25] There has never been an enemy of the Christian religion who was not simultaneously at wicked war with the See of Peter, since while this See remained strong the survival of the Christian religion was assured. As St. Irenaeus proclaims openly to all, “by the order and succession of the Roman pontiffs the tradition from the Apostles in the Church and the proclamation of the truth has come down to us... and the same life-giving faith which has been preserved in the Church until now since the time of the Apostles and has been handed on in truth.”[St. Irenaeus, Against Heresies, Book 3, Ch. 3]”

“... a just man is not frightened by the sight of death... The just man knows that he is not made for this world nor this world for him... Is it not insanity to grieve over goods which must perish? Or for honors which must lose all value? Or for pleasures which carry such bitterness and disgust? No, the just man is not troubled like the wicked Baltasar (Dan. 5:6) on hearing the sentence of his death. Nor does he rave like the proud Nabuchodonosor. (Dan. 4:27-30). Nor does he become spiteful like the impious Antiochus. (2 Mach. 9:4)... he who already has wept over his sins, can insult satan with the words of Saint Martin — “What are you doing here, you fiendish beast? I have already confessed all my sins. I have put my affairs in order. You will not find in me anything that you can accuse me of.”” (The Golden Key of Heaven, Meditation 12, On Death, pg. 127-128)
Death and the Journey Into Hell (3rd Edition)
Matthew 10:34-37- “Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s enemies shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me.”
Why So Many Can’t Believe
Pope St. Martin I, Martyr
November 12th
“Martin was born at Todi in Umbria. Upon ascending the pontifical throne, he strove by letters and embassies to recall Paul, Patriarch of Constantinople from his wicked heresy [Monothelitism, denying that Christ is both fully God & fully man] to the true Catholic faith. But, supported by the heretical emperor Constans, Paul was so carried away as to exile the legates of the Apostolic See to various islands. The Pope, indignant at this outrage, summoned a council of 105 bishops at Rome, in which he condemned Paul.
Upon this Constans sent the exarch Olympius into Italy, with orders either to kill Pope Martin or else to bring him to the emperor. Olympius, on reaching Rome, charged a lictor to assassinate the Pope as he was celebrating Mass in St. Mary’s at the Crib. But the man, attempting to do so, was suddenly struck blind.
From that time many calamities befell the emperor Constans, which however made him no better; and he sent Theodore Calliopus …More

In 799 he left Saccudion, which was threatened by the Arabs, & took charge of the monastery of the Studium at Constantinople. He gave the Studium an excellent organization which was taken as a model by the entire Byzantine monastic world... Four Crowned Martyrs
November 8th
Octave Day of All Saints' Day
“The old guidebooks to the tombs of the Roman martyrs make mention, in connection with the catacomb of Sts. Peter and Marcellinus on the Via Labicana, of the Four Crowned Martyrs (Quatuor Coronati), at whose grave the pilgrims were wont to worship (De Rossi, Roma sotterranea, I, 178-79). One of these itineraries, the "Epitome libri de locis sanctorum martyrum", adds the names of the four martyrs (in reality five): "IV Coronati, id est Claudius, Nicostratus, Simpronianus, Castorius, Simplicitus". These are the names of five martyrs, sculptors in the quarries of Pannonia (now a part of Austria-Hungary, southwest of the Danube), who gave up their lives for their Faith in the reign of Diocletian. The Acts of these martyrs, written by a revenue officer named Porphyrius probably in the fourth century, relates of the five sculptors that, although they raised no objections to executing such profane images as Victoria, Cupid, and …More
St. John of Damascus Condemned Ortho-Paganism Centuries Before Palamism
It's not a coincidence that St. John of Damascus said the following about Greek pagans, when considering that the Eastern "Orthodox" official doctrine of Palamism inevitably attempts to reduce God into parts (blasphemy), which quite literally makes the Greek "Orthodox" & other sects of "Orthodoxy" in every sense of the term 'Ortho-Pagans':
“... having no beginning and no end, for never was the Father ever lacking in the Word, nor the Word in the Spirit. Thus, because of the unity in nature, the error of the Greeks in holding that God is many is utterly destroyed.” (St. John of Damascus, Exposition on the Orthodox Faith)

First Saturday Devotion
Today is a First Saturday. The First Saturday Devotion or Act of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary's Immaculate Heart. She was made immaculate by God to be worthy of bearing the Redeemer of the World, therefore her prayers are worth much more than ours before Our Lord in Heaven. There is a 'Great Promise' to those who go to confession, receive Holy Communion & pray the Rosary on First Saturdays, but because there are barely any fully Catholic options available today for Mass, it is recommended for First Saturdays to simply say the full Rosary, the Act of Consecration to Jesus Through Mary by St. Louis De Montfort, special prayers asking for Our Lady's intercession & prayers honoring her Immaculate Heart. One could also partake in a spiritual communion if one is in a state of grace. However, the full 15-decades of the Rosary needs to be said daily. People are missing out on countless crucial graces that are only …More

Today is the First Friday of the month. The First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus has many promises attached to those true faithful who are committed to the devotion, including final perseverence. The devotion traditionally obliges Catholics to receive Holy Communion on First Fridays. However, because there are not many fully Catholic options available for Mass in our day, those in a state of grace can partake in a spiritual communion, after saying the Act of Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart & the following prayers at fixed times of the day:
Some Prayers to the Sacred Heart:
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I love Thee, and desire to love Thee more and more!
O Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, enflame our hearts with the love of Thee!
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, mayest Thou be known, loved & adored throughout the whole world!
O Heart of my dear Redeemer, may the love of Thy friends make amends for the insults and constant neglect which Thou sustainest!

All Souls' Day
November 2nd
“The commemoration of all the faithful departed is celebrated by the Church on 2 November, or, if this be a Sunday or a solemnity, on 3 November. The Office of the Dead must be recited by the clergy and all the Masses are to be of Requiem, except one of the current feast, where this is of obligation.
The theological basis for the feast is the doctrine that the souls which, on departing from the body, are not perfectly cleansed from venial sins, or have not fully atoned for past transgressions, are debarred from the Beatific Vision, and that the faithful on earth can help them by prayers, almsdeeds and especially by the sacrifice of the Mass...
In the early days of Christianity the names of the departed brethren were entered in the diptychs. Later, in the sixth century, it was customary in Benedictine monasteries to hold a commemoration of the deceased members at Whitsuntide. In Spain there was such a day on Saturday before Sexagesima or before Pentecost, at …More

Day of Fast
Abstinence
Today, the Vigil of All Saint's Day, is a Day of Fast & Abstinence. A Day of Abstinence means no meat at all is allowed (excluding fish). A Day of Fast means only one full meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, which together are less than the full meal, are also permitted.
Below is a traditional Catholic Calendar which Catholics should follow. You can print it out. It shows all the fast days, days of abstinence & feast days of saints. When printing, make sure to look at the print preview & choose "fit to page", otherwise the calendar might not print correctly. If you print it out in color, the days of Fast & Abstinence will be highlighted.

“... Be courageous. Do not be afraid or cowardly — Christ your Captain is here with all the power of Heaven, to protect you from the enemy, to see that they never conquer you: either by brute power or by trickery... Fight courageously then, and do not neglect to mortify yourself. Continual war on your inordinate inclinations and vicious habits will gain the victory, acquire the kingdom of Heaven and unite your soul to God forever... To repeat: you must not become tired of this war. Everyone must serve and please God. It is impossible to avoid this fight.” (The Spiritual Combat, Fr. Lorenzo Scupoli)

Solemnity of Christ The King
October 29th
The Feast of the Solemnity of Christ The King was established by Pope Pius XI in his encyclical Quas Primas, issued on December 11th, 1925, which proclaimed that men “must look for the peace of Christ in the Kingdom of Christ” (The Holy Catholic Church), & that Jesus Christ is the King of the entire world & the whole universe, & will be forever & ever:
“... Do we not read throughout the Scriptures that Christ is the King? He it is that shall come out of Jacob to rule, who has been set by the Father as king over Sion, his holy mount, and shall have the Gentiles for his inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for his possession. In the nuptial hymn, where the future King of Israel is hailed as a most rich and powerful monarch, we read: "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the scepter of thy kingdom is a scepter of righteousness...

St Simon the Canaanite, Apostle
October 28th
“The name of Simon occurs in all the passages of the Gospel and Acts, in which a list of the Apostles is given. To distinguish him from St. Peter he is called (Matthew 10:4; Mark 3:18) Kananaios, or Kananites, and Zelotes (Luke 6:15; Acts 1:13). Both surnames have the same signification and are a translation of the Hebrew qana (the Zealous). The name does not signify that he belonged to the party of Zealots, but that he had zeal for the Jewish law, which he practised before his call. Jerome and others wrongly assumed that Kana was his native place; were this so, he should have been called Kanaios. The Greeks, Copts, and Ethiopians identify him with Nathanael of Cana; the first-mentioned also identify him with the bridegroom of the marriage of Cana, while in the "Chronicon paschale" and elsewhere he is identified with Simon Clopas.
The Abyssinians accordingly relate that he suffered crucifixion as the Bishop of Jerusalem, after he had preached …More
St. Jude Thaddeus, Apostle
October 28th
“In the address of the Epistle the author styles himself "Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James". "Servant of Jesus Christ" means "apostolic minister or labourer". "Brother of James" denotes him as the brother of James kat exochen who was well-known to the Hebrew Christians to whom the Epistle of St. Jude was written. This James is... the Bishop of the Church of Jerusalem (Acts 15:13; 21:18), spoken of by St. Paul as "the brother of the Lord" (Galatians 1:19)... the author of the Catholic Epistle of St. James, and is regarded... as the Apostle James the son of Alpheus (St. James the Less)... Catholic commentators identify Jude with the "Judas Jacobi" ("Jude, the brother of James" in the D.V.) of Luke 6:16 & Acts 1:13 — also called Thaddeus (Matthew 10:3: Mark 3:18) — referring the expression to the fact that his brother James was better known than himself in the primitive Church...

Theistic Evolution = Unbiblical Nonsense & Is Refuted by Catholic Dogma
There are some individuals who think that theistic evolution (the false idea that the Biblical account of creation is somehow compatible with the unscientific theory of evolution) is something that a Catholic can believe. This is a grave error, and is refuted by Catholic dogma, which plainly teaches that God created all creatures instantly, just as the account in the Book of Genesis accurately describes:
Fourth Lateran Council, 1215, Ch. 1, The Catholic Faith: “... the true God... creator of all visible and invisible things, of the spiritual and of the corporal; who by His own omnipotent power at once from the beginning of time created each creature from nothing, spiritual, and corporal, namely, angelic and mundane, and finally the human, constituted as it were, alike of the spirit and the body.”
