When Christ Our King ascended into Heaven, He took with Him His glorified human nature. This is extremely significant. Consider how God has made human nature so as to share in all aspects of creation: existence with stones, animation with plants, sensation with animals and intelligence with angels. By His Ascension, Christ imparts His perfect order to all creation -- through angels and priests. Priests receive Holy Orders so as to be instruments in Christ's hierarchy for re-establishing this right order. When they are faithful, we receive manifold graces; yet when they are unfaithful and betray Christ, there is great disorder in the world.
