Cardinal «Full of Hope» For Future of Church

Cardinal Angelo Scola, the former archbishop of Milan, the world’s biggest diocese, presented last Thursday his autobiography in Lecco, Italy. During the event, he said that – quote – "I am full of hope for the future of the Church." Scola came in second in 2013 when Cardinal Bergoglio was elected pope.

Mentor of Cardinal Sarah Died in France

The French Holy Ghost Father Marcel Bracquemond died on November 28 at the age of 93 in Langonnet, France. Cardinal Robert Sarah remembered him on Twitter as "the Holy Ghost missionary of the village of my childhood" and as the priest who proposed to the young Robert to enter the small seminary. A Twitter user commented, "Listen Africa: We urgently need your help to save the Catholic Church. Please help us!"

Pope Francis "Was Not Allowed" to Reform Vatican Bank

Pope Francis was allegedly "not allowed" to reform the Vatican Bank he originally wanted to close down, because of a strong "internal opposition", the pro-Francis Il Fatto Quotidiano has claimed. However, this theory is highly unlikely. At the beginning of his pontificate, Francis named a fact-finding commission which he later dissolved. Allegedly the commission had proposed to create two banks, a central bank with no counter windows to manage the Vatican investments, and a bank with counter windows to pay the salaries of the Vatican employees and to perform other transactions.

Sweet Justice

The former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane, a Democrat, entered prison on November 29. Kane was convicted more than two years ago of perjury, obstruction of justice, and abuse of office. She was the one who singled out the Catholic Church for a grand jury investigation, all because of one teacher at a Catholic high school who molested a minor in the 1990s. Kane knew about it because the bishop immediately reported the case to the police. Catholic League’s Bill Donohue comments, “Catholics are being played. The public is being set up to believe that somehow the Catholic Church owns the abuse problem.”
