More vocations with the old rite: Last week, the Franciscans of the Immaculate vested 12 novices with another 16 novices pronouncing their first vows. On both occasions, the liturgy was celebrated in the old rite. Until the 11th of August this will still be possible. The celebrant was Father Gabriele Maria Pellettieri who founded the order together with Father Stefano Maria Manelli. Father Manelli invested the postulants and received the temporary vows. According to katholisches.info., the number of novices was lower and primarily from the Philippines before the Order moved to the extraordinary rite. Last week the new entrants were mostly Europeans.
Not imposed: The Franciscans of the Immaculate have strongly denied on their website that their founder and last superior general, Fr Stefano Manelli has imposed on all the communities of the group the exclusive use of the old rite. On the contrary, he never wanted this rite to be celebrated exclusively by the friars.
Record statue of Jesus: According to AsiaNews, Georgian artist Zurab Tsereteli is preparing an 83-metre tall bronze statue of Jesus. In the past, Tsereteli produced a statue of Vladimir Putin dressed in a judo outfit, a giant statue of Peter the Great and the Tear Drop Memorial dedicated to the September 11 attacks. In Soviet times Tsereteli won the “Lenin Prize” and was declared “Hero of Socialist Labour”. The bronze Jesus sculpture was cast in St. Petersburg and is actually 33 metres high, the same number of years Christ lived on earth. But, added to the 50 metre-high pedestal, the entire structure will be a record 83 metres tall. The sculpture will exceed the Statue of Christ in Lisbon – currently considered the tallest in Europe - by five metres.
A lavish ceremony: Following legislation that permits same-sex marriage in the U.K. yet prohibits the Church of England from performing the ceremony, homosexuals are planning to sue to be able to - quotation-marks - marry in their church according to the Essex Chronicle. One distraught homosexual is quoted as saying: “I want to go into my church and marry … it upsets me because I want it so much – a big lavish ceremony.” The bill has raised considerable concerns over religious liberty and conscience protection. The British government has so far assured that religious groups would be protected from such suits.

I still don't understand what's going on with these Franciscans of the Immacualte..are there some in the order not wanting to do the TLM? Or wanting just to offer the NO? And thanks for the news!

These homosexuals don't give a damn what Holy Scripture says about their sodomite lifestyle, hence they care nothing about God. So why care about being "married" in the church.
