Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled, but I don't know that we can take, "great solace" in Trump defunding International Planned Parenthood. This much past Republican presidents have done as their first, or one of their first, acts as president. The good thing that occurred this week is a vote (VP Pence was the tie-breaker) getting rid of Obama's wicked ruling that states aren't allowed to defund Planned Parenthood.

"Beginning to fear for our civil liberties and the persecution of Catholics"? If the point is that we haven't truly experienced civil liberties being violated and true persecution yet, absolutely. But that it's right around the bend ought not be only now understood. It's coming with force. I personally believe that the way Trump has conducted himself is contributing. But I am not saying it's a bad thing, necessarily. Are we doing what God is calling us to do is the question.

Cardinal Burke IS fighting with everything he has. And the price he pays is not a consideration. He also isn't doing it expecting all of us who say we support him will support him in any significant way. He is seeking to be faithful to the One who is, and cannot be other than, faithful.
