Ultra-liberal: Pope Francis named Irish-born Dallas Bishop Kevin Farrell as the first-ever head of the new Congregation for Family, Laity, and Life Issues. John Allen, Editor of Crux magazine, calls Farrell a – quote – “moderate” which is the word ultra-liberal radicals use to denominate other ultra-liberal radicals. Farrell’s brother Brian is also a Curia bishop in the Vatican. When taking over Dallas in 2007, Kevin Farrell, known for his authoritarian stances, smashed a Catholic renewal at the University of Dallas.

Vengeance? Pope Francis named the ultra-liberal Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia as the new Grand Chancellor of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Rome. As the new president, he appointed the ultra-liberal Monsignor Pierangelo Sequeri. During the last Synod on the Family the Institute courageously opposed the pro-divorce and pro-homosex stances of Pope Francis. The new nominations bring the Institute into line with the liberal contra-revolution, which is going on at the moment in the Vatican.

Decline: White Christian America is dying according to Robert P. Jones, founding CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute. Fewer than 3 in 10 young adults in the United States are white Christians. The decline does not spare the evangelicals. Quote: "The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest evangelical Protestant denomination in the country...has now posted nine straight years of declining growth rates."

Allegation: Fifty-two-year-old Father Paolo Piccoli has been accused of having strangled 92-year-old Monsignor Giuseppe Rocco. Both priests used to live next to each other in a house for priests in Trieste, Italy. The crime took place in April, 2014. Before Monsignor Rocco was killed, a certain number of religious objects disappeared from his room and Rocca had named Father Piccoli among those who could possibly have stolen them.
