The next Synod of Bishops will take place in October, 2018 on the theme of, “Young People, the Faith and the Discernment of Vocation.” The proposal that it would be about married priests was apparently voted down by a majority of the 12 members of the Synod’s Ordinary Council. Only five members of this council belong to the Catholic wing: Cardinals Napier, Pell, Ouellet, Sarah and Philadelphia Archbishop Chaput.
Money Without Faith: In 2015, the Archdiocese of Cologne, Germany, one of the richest dioceses in the world, has yielded a profit of 52 Million Euro. The archdiocese owns assets of 3.5 Billion Euros. It has over 4,300 employees. The Cologne archdiocese makes its money through a church tax, which is compulsory and mainly paid by non-practicing Catholics.
Catholic: In a Facebook video message to the U.S. Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors, the actor Mark Wahlberg writes: “I want you to know my support for your work to foster vocations to the priesthood, because I want my children and future generations to have good priests in their lives, just like I had.” Wahlberg said the Catholic faith was, “the anchor that supports everything I do in life.” He tries to go to Mass daily.
A Christian: The former bishop of Burlington, Vermont, Monsignor Kenneth Angell, died Tuesday in a nursing home of a stroke at age 86. He retired in 2005. Angell saw Vermont pass its first-in-the-nation homosex unions law, which he opposed. He also saw his brother, television producer David Angell, the Emmy Award-winning creator of “Fraser,” die who was in the first plane to strike the World Trade Center on 9/11. At a Mass, the bishop prayed for the victims and the perpetrators, saying, “I am a Christian. I have to forgive, so I do.”

If all officials, from all denominations, would repent and return to the Christian Truth, than there were no problems for vocations.
