As if lies help anyone. Help him die in peace? After his death he will find out anyway. This film is not Catholic at all. A proper priest would help the man to accept the mercy of God and encourage him to do penance.

You're right, at the end we go face to face with God and be judge for our actions IF we don't repent sincerely from our hearts. Only God know how sincerely we are.
