Was Francis’ Celebration of Vilnius Martyrs A Mockery of Those in China?

During his recent Apostolic Visit to the Baltic states, Pope Francis hailed in Vilnius the martyrs of National Socialism and Communism. But Father Bernardo Cervellera of Asia News pointed out that in all these years Pope Francis has been silent about any persecution in China: the killing of priests; the destroyed churches; the arrested bishops. Therefore the celebration of the martyrs in Vilnius could be seen as a mockery of the suffering of the Chinese Catholics.

Archbishop Fights Against “Homo-Transphobia”

Archbishop Gian Carlo Perego of Ferrara, Italy, has protested in the main square of Ferrara together with Manuela Macario, the president of Arcigay, the local homosex lobby, against – quote – “homo-transphobia”. Perego presented himself on September 22 behind a nine-picture photo exhibition which complained about an alleged “persecution” of homosexual immigrants in Italy. Arcigay is furiously anti-Catholic. Until February 2017, Ferrara had an excellent archbishop, Monsignor Luigi Negri whom Pope Francis quickly replaced because of his courageous Catholic stances.

Cardinal O’Brien on His Way Out?

There is a persistent rumour in Rome that Cardinal Edwin O’Brien, the present Grand Master of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, will soon be asked to present his resignation. O'Brien is named in the Viganó report as belonging to the homosexual current which is in favor of the subversion of Catholic doctrine on homosexuality. According to Riposte catholique, O’Brien could be replaced by New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan, an ally of Pope Francis and another prelate who is soft on homosexual issues.

Saint Lucifer Pray For Us

The Catholic Herald has complained that seven baby boys were named “Lucifer” in England last year, according to the Office for National Statistics. However, there is a saint Lucifer whom the Church celebrates on May 20. He was a bishop of Cagliari, Italy. In Cagliari, there is a church of Saint Lucifer. Further, the hymn of Sunday Laudes of the first week, written by Saint Ambrose, says that “through God the morning star – in Latin: lucifer – arises.”
