Three-dimensional Christians life (Pope Francis) Gospel of Sunday April 7 2019 5th of Lenten Dear brothers and sisters, the extraordinary passage of the Gospel of John that we will listen Sunday, April 7th, the fifth of Lent, finds an equally extraordinary comment in the passage of the second reading taken from the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians. In fact, while in the passage of the Gospel Jesus saves from certain death the woman caught in the act of adultery and, snatching her from the clutches of the scribes and Pharisees, raises her up and, so to speak, "sets her in motion" so that she can continue her race, free from the weight of sin, towards the goal of the encounter with the merciful Father, in the passage from the letter to the Philippians, Paul allows us to deepen the liturgical dynamic in three dimensions, I would say, of the Christian life. In fact, the encounter with Jesus who makes himself present in the Church, his Mystical Body, communicating salvation, obtained in the extraordinary event, happened in the past, of his life, passion, death and resurrection, frees Paul from the burden of sin and from what for him, had could be "a gain", and allows him to run, towards a future of light, anticipated and tasted in some way, already in the present.
