After the various French Revolutions had ravaged the faith of France, the eldest daughter of the Church, Our Lady appeared only one time to two French peasant children, Maxim and Melanie, on September 19, 1846 in LaSalette. She appeared as the Mother of Sorrows, weeping, with Jesus crucified on the Cross around her neck … alive and sighing with pain and sorrow. She made it known to the children that she was weeping over the evils occurring in the world at that time as well as evils that would occur in the future.
