Lacking What? Talking to members of the Roman academic community Villa Nazareth, Pope Francis stressed last Saturday that he often finds himself in a crisis of faith and that he often has doubts about the Faith. He even claimed that a Christian whose faith does not regularly enter into a crisis – quote – “lacks something”. Francis insulted such a Christian as somebody who is content with some wordliness and who goes on in life in this way.

Wrong: Pope Bergoglio again repeated his fevorino that in the Chinese alphabet the word crisis combines two letters: the one for risk and the one for opportunity. But he was twice wrong. The two words are commonly known as “danger” and “opportunity”, but there is an article on Wikipedia debunking this interpretation altogether.

Comparing a broken leg with a broken arm: Francis further claimed that – quote – “we have turned the values upside down” accusing the Church of refusing an adulterer as baptismal sponsor but – quote - then they bring in somebody who is a crook, an exploiter of people, a child trafficker, but he is a "good Catholic", he gives alms to the Church.” Gloria.tv asks whether the Pope of mercy believes that this sinner does not receive the mercy of God?

A rigorous Thomist: Yesterday, fifty years ago, Belgian Father Georges Edouard Lemaître died. As a physicist and astronomer Lemaître discovered the Big Bang, a theory about how the universe started. The fact that Lemaître was a Catholic priest did not enhance his reputation in the prejudiced scientific community. As a theologian, Lemaître, given his intelligence, was a rigorous Thomist.

Dear Abramo,
.
She'll never win. The electorate will come to realize that having to endure the countenance of this creature for the next 4 years is reason enough not to vote for it. 🤐
.
Incidentally, is today a holiday in Europe? Are Gloria.tv's lovely lady reporterettes spending the day at the spa or the beauty parlor and have forgotten about preparing today's news? 😲

@Uncle Joe: I think Pope Bergoglio would be the perfect vice-presidential candidate for Killary Klinton. 😀

François............... La sagesse ne vient pas dans un estomac bien rempli.
Saint Jean Baptiste, lui, n'a JAMAIS douté.

Truly a Renaissance Man. He embraces man-made global warming, borderless unlimited immigration, contempt for capitalism, mixes socially with socialist/commie dictators (and homos)...who could do better? Let's just give him the Nobel Peace Prize and get it over with. 👌

Dear Jungerheld,
.
A quote from Lemaître's bio:

“By 1951, Pope Pius XII declared that Lemaître's theory provided a scientific validation for Catholicism. However, Lemaître resented the Pope's proclamation, stating that the theory was neutral and there was neither a connection nor a contradiction between his religion and his theory.[19][20] When Lemaître and Daniel O'Connell, the Pope's science advisor, tried to persuade the Pope not to mention Creationism publicly anymore, the Pope agreed. He persuaded the Pope to stop making proclamations about cosmology.[21] While a devout Roman Catholic, he was against mixing science with religion,[22] though he also was of the opinion that these two fields of human experience were not in conflict.[23]
.

This above quote is important for at least 2 reasons. First, Lemaître recognized that the Church was not equipped to seriously deal with the specialized issue of the expansion of the universe in that it would, in fact, detract from Lemaître's purely scientific theory. 2) Pius XII agreed.
.
Could churchmen exhibit the same degree of basic common sense and humility today?

😀

If Pope Francis is canonized, he will likely be declared the Patron of Straw Men.

Given Chinese traditional Taoist thinking (within evil there is good, within good there is evil), it also seems logical to me why people would think it means that.

@Uncle Joe, what a vast contrast it seems you have exposed. Lemaitre's study and radical proposals did not require violent opposition to the Church. And he seemed to know and accept that his "wild" ideas (as your linked video describes) were rejected, to some degree, because he was a scientist and a churchman. But today all blame is on the churchman for any resistance to sloppy "science."
Uncle Joe
Stessa cosa vecchia with respect to Francis. However, the note about Father Georges Edouard Lemaître...a breath of fresh air. 👍
