6. Divine Mercy Devotion - What's the Point?

This video is the sixth in a series of videos that discusses and analyzes the Divine Mercy Devotion. In this video we look at what's left of the devotion, once you take away the heterodoxy. The first video in the series is at: 1 Divine Mercy Devotion - Introduction
I'm sorry for the sound quality here. For some reason, the microphone didn't record well, so I had to enhance the volume through the video editor. When I did that, there was some serious knocking in the background for the first minute or so. To mask that, I let the opening song run longer - but that could be irritating to some. If it is too irritating, let me know and I'll record this over again.

It is also unheard of to have a private revelation devotion to have a Feast Day on a Sunday...

Ascent of Mount Carmel
it is best to watch them in numerical order.
I am not going to do that. If your videos included the facts as pointed out in my post below, then there is no point in my viewing the videos since that would be redundant and we are in agreement.

However, if you have presented videos which deliberately attempt to humiliate Saint Faustina going so far as to accuse her of heterodoxy and attempt to discredit the Divine Mercy Devotion which Pope Saint John Paul II
praised and has given singular honors including the granting a universal feast day (as I wrote below), then I am not interested.

You can have the last word. I am done with this topic.

Holy Cannoli. This is just the sixth video of a series. As it was stated at the outset, it is best to watch them in numerical order. It will make more sense that way.

"Excellent points."
Did those points include the fact that the Divine Mercy Devotion is derived from a canonized saint, Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska's visions and revelations made by Jesus Christ Himself?
The answer is NO!

The answer is NO!

Did those points include the fact that Pope Saint John Paul II, on the occasion of the canonization of Sr. Faustina on 30 April 2000 in a decree dated 23 May 2000, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments stated that "throughout the world the Second Sunday of Easter will receive the name Divine Mercy Sunday, a perennial invitation to the Christian world to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that mankind will experience in the years to come." These papal acts represent the highest endorsement that the Church can give to a private revelation, an act of papal infallibility proclaiming the certain sanctity of the mystic, and the granting of a universal feast, as requested by Our Lord to St. Faustina.

The answer is NO!

Did those points include the fact that On 29 June 2002, the Apostolic Penitentiary of the Holy See promulgated a decree creating new indulgences that may be gained by the faithful in connection with the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday. This decree grants a plenary indulgence to those who comply with all the conditions established, and a partial indulgence to those who incompletely fulfill the conditions.

The answer is NO!

Look, there are plenty of things to be troubled about within today's Catholic Church that are both embarrassing and disguising not only within the Catholic community but also by those who are not Catholic. Primarily because of a lack of strong, ethical and Catholic leadership we are and will continue to be the subject of contemptuous ridicule and mockery. I don't see that the Divine Mercy Devotion contributes in any way to this ridicule and mockery. Actually, it's just the opposite.

This video makes some excellent points.
