@Alex A To be fair Irish people have listened to the national broadcaster (RTE) as their source of news for decades. Their Catholicism was taken like a frog in a pot, slowly heated and boiled alive. Their faith was attacked from all sides, priests who came out from the seminaries poorly formed with what seemed like a different faith, leaders in the church that were ill-equipped by life to deal with the child abuse scandals and a constant bombardment of left-wing anti-catholic propaganda. Very few made it with their faith intact

in 1987 a law was passed that every radio station had to have 10 per cent of their programs dedicated to current affairs. This meant a 5-10 min "news" update every hour. A local radio station can't produce that much content by itself so it naturally will follow the lead of RTE which was originally a very conservative station. When RTE changed slowly to a socialist liberal output it took the country with it.

It's now a country that accepts anything and everything and those who resist are labelled far-right extremists. To find Irish catholicism I would go to SSPX, The Latin Mass Society of Ireland or any Dominican chapel.

Personally, I think that the Devil targeted Ireland with its powerhouse army of daily rosary reciters. Once the rosary fell the family and country fell.

I think there is a huge moral lesson in what you say for the entire West. When you stop worshipping God, you don’t stop worshipping, you start worship everything else. Peace.

And Irelands Catholicism is to be found where?

Agreed, it looks extremely dim but there is a strong and growing "underground" movement here in Ireland. They started out as isolated pockets and are now beginning to merge together. Please God with time, more of these pockets will join...

I often see here on Gloria, men in Ireland praying the Rosary together in public in all kinds of weather.
