Crisis magazine reproduces an important essay by Father Regis Scanlon, originally published by the Homiletic and Pastoral Review, on how the prevalence of homosexuality in the priesthood has contributed to the sex-abuse scandal.
While he welcomes reforms that have been instituted to protect children, Father Scanlon observes: "However, a more important question remains unanswered: why should the Church allow predators to be lurking among the clergy in the first place?"
Ten years ago, as Church leaders began to grapple with the problem of abuse, the role of homosexuality was widely acknowledged.
But more recent studies have directed attention away from the problem, despite clear evidence that homosexuality is an enormous contributing factor.

Well, from personal experience, one of our children married a homosexual (not knowing so) and he turned out to be a pedophile.
The case went to court and there was enough medical evidence for the judge to forbid him from ever seeing the children. I don't think, according to the research I have done on the subject, that all homosexuals are pedophiles but the ratio is much higher in this group.

By the way, the gay gene is same gene found among those who are schizophrenic.
