Sainte Théodore Guérin.
A valiant soul ...
Quotes
“The wilderness is our only cloister.”
“Love the children first, then teach them.”
“What strength the soul draws from prayer!”
“Put yourself gently into the hands of Providence.”
“If we wish to die like the Saints we must live like them.”
Prayer
Saint Théodore Guérin, valiant woman of God, intercede for
us in our needs. Implore for us through Jesus the gifts of
living faith, abiding hope, and steadfast charity, so that
through a life of prayer and service with others we may

A cheerful courage ...
A light in the darkness
“Do not yield to hatred. Be patient. We are here in a dark
tunnel but we have to go on. At the end, the eternal light
is shining for us”, Bl. Brandsma, O.Carm
Prayer in the midst of suffering
God our Father, source of life and freedom, through your
Holy Spirit you gave the Carmelite Titus Brandsma the
courage to affirm human dignity even in the midst of
suffering and degrading persecution. Grant us that
same Spirit, so that, refusing all compromise with
error, we may always and everywhere give coherent
witness to your abiding presence among us. We ask
this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St Thomas More.
A man of principles ...
His finest words
“I die the king’s faithful servant, but God’s first.”
Prayer for statesman and politicians
O Glorious Saint Thomas More, your life of prayer and
penance, and your zeal for justice, integrity and firm
principles in public and family life led you to the path of
martyrdom and sainthood. Intercede for our statesman
and politicians that they may be courageous and effective
in their defence and promotion of the sanctity of human
life - the foundation of all other human rights. We ask
this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
St Benedict of Nursia.
A change of course ...
Prayer of Amendment
“O Lord, I place myself in your hands and dedicate myself to you. I pledge myself to do your will in all things: To love the Lord God with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength. Not to kill. Not to steal. Not to covet. Not to bear false witness. To honour all persons. Not to do to another what I would not wish done to myself. To chastise the body. Not to seek after pleasures. To love fasting. To relieve the poor. To clothe the naked. To visit the sick. To bury the dead. To help in trouble. To console the sorrowing. To hold myself aloof from worldly ways. To prefer nothing to the love of Christ. Not to give way to anger. Not to foster a desire for revenge. Not to entertain deceit in the heart. Not to make a false peace. Not to forsake charity. Not to swear, lest I swear falsely. To speak the truth with heart and tongue. Not to return evil for evil. To do no injury: yea, even to bear patiently any injury done to me. To love my enemies. Not to curse those who curse …More

A Priest - Lacordaire
To live in the midst of the world,
without wishing its pleasures;
To be a member of each family,
yet belonging to none;
To share all suffering;
To penetrate all secrets;
To heal all wounds;
To go from men to God,
and offer Him their prayers;
To return from God to men;
To bring pardon and hope;
To have a heart of fire for Charity,
and a heart of bronze for Chastity;
To teach and to pardon,
console and bless always.
My God, what a life;
and it is yours,
O priest of Jesus Christ.

Tears of a mother ...
Apparition message - September 1846
“Priests, my Son's ministers, priests, by their evil life,
by their irreverences and their impiety in celebrating
the holy mysteries, love of money, love of honor and
pleasures, priests have become sewers of impurity.
Yes, priests call forth vengeance, and vengeance is
suspended over their heads. Woe to priests, and
to persons consecrated to God, who by their
infidelities and their evil life are crucifying my
son anew! The sins of persons consecrated to God
cry to heaven and call for vengeance, and now here
is vengeance at their very doors, for no longer is
anyone found to beg mercy and pardon for the
people; there are no more generous souls, there
is now no one worthy of offering the spotless
Victim to the Eternal on the world's behalf.”
Our Lady of La Salette
