"The new feudalism"
"It looks like the Mafia, it smells like the Mafia, it is the Mafia" – Lecture on the book by political scientist and publicist Hermann Ploppa (With video)
December 15, 2025 by WS. Reading time: 1 minute.
In his book "The New Feudalism," political scientist Hermann Ploppa describes the puppet masters behind the rampant expropriation and disempowerment of the people, and where they intend to lead us. His lecture begins with warnings from the middle class and the question of whether we are sliding into a new form of lawlessness.
Ploppa traces the line from historical feudalism to today's power structures and talks about privatization, BlackRock, platform capitalism, corruption and the role of media and think tanks such as the Atlas Network.
Further topics of the lecture include party politics as a vehicle for lobbying interests, the pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises, and the question of how citizens can regain more sovereignty and defend themselves against expropriation and disenfranchisement. The lecture invites critical examination of these connections and open discussion. The statements reflect the speaker's personal view.
Hermann Ploppa, born in 1953, is a publicist and publisher. His areas of expertise include: politics and contemporary history, mechanisms of international elite networks, studies on market radicalism, and essays on China.
