Vatican Press Office: Francis Wrote Via Crucis Meditations "Himself"
Francis can barely breathe, speak or walk.
Further, the Holy See Press Office said Francis 'was recovering' at his residence, the Casa Santa Marta. He has continued to show slight improvements in his breathing, mobility and voice.
He is able to go without oxygen for extended periods of time, but requires high-flow oxygen through nasal cannulas only in the evening or as needed.
The Press Office also claims that Francis continues his "work activities" and receives visits from collaborators in the Roman Curia, such as Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, who visited on April 13 for the promulgation of decrees on the causes of saints.
At the same time, the Press Office noted that it is still "too early" to discuss the Francis' participation in Holy Week liturgies.
On Holy Thursday, Cardinal Domenico Calcagno, President Emeritus of APSA, will preside at the Chrism Eucharist in the morning.
On Good Friday, Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, the Prefect of the Dicastery for Eastern Churches, will preside at the Passion Liturgy in St. Peter's Basilica.
Later that evening, Cardinal Baldo Reina, the Pope's Vicar General of Rome, will preside over the Via Crucis at the Colosseum.
