German Bishop: Church Teaching on Homosexuality Depends on "the Times"

What the Church's documents say about homosexuality "is time-related and must be reviewed in the light of the insights we have today from a moral-theological and ethical perspective," Auxiliary Bishop Ludger Schepers, 71, of Essen, Germany, told Dw.com (December 4) [implying that revelation is the same as the zeitgeist of 1968].

A homosexual [and a pedophile?] "is the way he or she is now, that's just the way it is".

What happens at the level of the universal Church, such as at the ex-synod, is for Schepers "not always clear, especially with Pope Francis":

"But it is quite clear that the US Jesuit James Martin is an important figure on this issue on the big stage of the global Church and is [allegedly] pushing it forward. And the new Cardinal of Hong Kong has also made comments to this effect in an interview."

Schepers' homosexual activism "is very often perceived very positively", he wants to believe: "Not in all circles, that's clear. After some of my statements, I am almost bombarded with biblical passages or confronted with accusations that I am no longer Catholic."

SonoftheChurch

A true son and scion of both Luther and Lucifer. This is what the Church and Priesthood has come to in Germany. This is the satanic depths to which the cause of Christ in that nation has descended. The great Martyr and Apostle to Germany, Saint Boniface, whose blood was shed bringing the Light of the Gospel into the darkness of that pagan and barbaric land, would weep to see it so.
