French Pachamama Bishop Punished for Receiving "Homosexual Favours"

The Vatican has banished Bishop Emeritus Emmanuel Lafont, 77, of Cayenne, French Guyana, to a French monastery, the bishops announced on 19 December.

Lafont has been investigated since April 2021 for "supporting" a Haitian immigrant, 27, in exchange for "homosexual favours." Lafont denies the charges.

He has been under secret Vatican sanctions since October 2022 and is not allowed to engage in pastoral activity, wear his episcopal insignia or contact any of his Guyanese acquaintances.

A former diocesan employee also accuses him of "moral harassment", whatever that means.

A civil investigation has been launched against Lafont, not for homosexual offences, but for assisting illegal immigration.

Lafont was a prominent voice at Francis' Amazon synod. He became famous for having nothing better to do than to carry a pachamama boat into St Peter's along with other bishops.

Soon he'll be back to his old tricks again. Just like McCarrick. Benedict XVI imposed that rule on him, but he was back in action a year later with Francis. Francis absolved Rudnik, I bet he absolves "Pachamamma" bishop too.

@Kenjiro M. Yoshimori To be fair, McCarrick’s punishment was never publicly made known, until sometime after it was lifted by Bergoglio. In fact, I think it was Viganò who informed the world of it, after Ted had been disgraced. He also wasn’t under a sentence of a life of prayer and penance, but was just supposed to keep a low profile. I can’t imagine this guy ever being allowed back in any way, but, who knows, given the Rupnik case? Whatever it is, we can agree that there is so much corruption, that there will never again be trust unless the people in charge are ousted, and publicly disgraced.

"Lafont denies the charges." Gee whiz , another Bergoglio buddy in a huge sex scandal. First there was Jesuit crony Rudnik involved in massive sex scandal with a tiny "order" of nuns called the Loyola community (liberal lay clothes nuns, 40 total members), now there's Lafont, caught in an enormous gay scandal. Then of course there's gay Paglia decorating his former cathedral with pictures of gay men, and embezzling tons of money to re-do his apartment. The scandals keep coming for Bergoglio......Becciu, Parolin, Tagle, McCarrick, and on and on.......
Just resign Bergoglio.....you already signed it. Act on it!!

If he denies the accusation of worshiping the false goddess Pachamama I will not believe him, having seen him support with his arms this Pachamama-carrier!
It's terrible, nothing scandalizes me anymore...
