An Opus Dei Bishop: "Sex is God's Greatest Gift to Us Humans"
Bishop José Maria Bonnemain, 76, of Chur, Switzerland, was ordained a priest for Opus Dei in Torreciudad, Spain, in 1978.
On 9 December, he told a Swiss tabloid that sex is God's greatest gift to us humans". He did not elaborate on how he arrived at this conclusion. The tabloid did not challenge this foolish statement.
Earlier, a European bishop, unaware of Bonnemain's revelation, had expressed his fear that empty churches could be sold and turned into 'sex shops'.
Swiss-Cath.ch (21 December) tried to explain to the sex bishop that sex, like all human behaviour, belongs to the 'fallen creation' and is therefore an integral part of the sinful human race, as everyday experience irrefutably confirms.
But where an anti-Church ideology obscures the mind, reality and experience have no place.
"Swiss-Cath.ch (21 December) tried to explain to the sex bishop that sex, like all human behaviour, belongs to the 'fallen creation' and is therefore an integral part of the sinful human race, as everyday experience irrefutably confirms." Response: Traditional Catholic philosophy, morality, and theology teaches that the above position is false for several reasons. Human Nature and Original Justice: St. Thomas Aquinas teaches that God endowed humans in their original state of justice in the Garden of Eden with "ordo" (order). This order meant the lower faculties of the soul, including the carnal appetite, were subject to the rational mind, and to the spiritual soul, which in turn was subject to God's will. God's Will and Procreation: If original sin had not taken place, God intended Adam and Eve to procreate, fill the earthly paradise, and, with their incorruptible progeny, eventually be assumed body and soul into heaven without experiencing death. This procreation would have been, and is a participation in God's creative act. The Fall and Disorder: The disobedience of Adam and Eve disrupted and overturned this spiritual and natural order. Carnal appetite rebelled against the rational soul, introducing disorder into human nature. Physical evil, disorders like disease, and death , and moral evil, mortal and venial sin, are a consequence of the original sin of disobedience against the Will of God. Therefore: Pre-Fall Sexuality: Before the Fall, human sexuality was not inherently sinful; however, it never took place. Marriage, virginity, and chastity existed only. Marital consummation had not yet taken place before the Fall. If the Fall had not occurred, Adam and Eve would have had children. Adam and Eve and their children would have been born in the state of original justice, and would have, therefore, been incorruptible because sin, and death would have been absent. Post-Fall Sexuality: After the Fall, the consequence of man's disobedience was disorder in man's nature, and in Creation, which introduced sinfulness into sexual relations due to their taking place outside of marriage, and in the state of original sin. Sexual intercourse, however, in and of itself, is not inherently sinful when exercised within the proper sacramental, spiritual context, and openness to life. Sacrament of Marriage: For Catholics, sexual intercourse finds its proper sacred context within the bond of the sacrament of marriage. State of Grace: Ideally, both partners should be in a state of grace, meaning they are free from mortal sin. It is not a sin for a married couple, in the state of mortal sin, to engage in sexual intercourse which further proves that'the context in which sexual activity takes place.
This guy is from the same Swiss diocese as the recently deceased +Hounder, who was assigned by Francis to infiltrate and dilute the SSPX (which foolishly took him in, to show Rome how liberal they have become).
A great gift to all humanity would be to have you banished to a lifetime of solitary prayer and penance in an obscure monastery hidden far, far away for the remainder of your days on earth.
