I taught at a inner city school in the early 2000's, and some wanna be gangstas were wearing the rosary. I told them it was disrespectful to use it as a gang symbol. They replied but I'm Mexican and it's my religion. I said, ok I'm Catholic also, so, if you can show me how to pray it, you can wear it. They paused with a uhh, uhm, uhh, then took them off.
